Hi, How is everything going at your job..Just thought i would check in and see how things are going.. Did you do anything fun over memorial day weekend.. Oh yes! Please update us! Ohhh... hey!!! Well lets see my job got hit kinda hard by the recession, I do some yard work for my parents and help them out, and tho I never asked for it they know I am in a bit of a tight spot now and help me out a bit, I anticipate things getting better in june when I get bumped up to full time again and can actually do alright, this winter was really tough financially and I am thankful I was able to maintain everything I have, it seemed like a close one. So ya, work is stressful as always, I have been wanting to leave but that would mean moving to the city to find a better job, which I plan on doing once fall/winter comes cause I dont want to go back down to part time during the most expencive time of the year ya know... For Memorial day weekend I watched a UFC event on pay per view, hung out with a few friends and went to my parents house, this comming weekend I am going up north about 150 miles away from here is this awsome MASSIVE came ground, like 30 square miles all around, because my friend is unemployed I will have to pay for the gasoline to get their and back, in exchange he will drive (I drive 400 miles a week so I want a break). From the road its about a 7 mile drive into these woods, driving along mountains wayyyyy deep into this site, very isolated and we will find a place near this spring I like, camp out, then climb a small mountain, then hopeing to maximize my time out their get back in town just in time for work on monday, hehe. Be pretty tired, but its the only time I am going up all year because of gas. I also have a new GPS thing I got with my stimulus payment from the government, TOM TOM XL. I want to test that out up their on these dirt trails. Ya, thats basicly my life until monday from here on out, what about you how did you spend your Memorial day weekend? Of course I only had 2 days off, many others had a 3 day weekend, lucky!!! Heh. So happy to hear you had such an awesome weekend dave dude i got your pm you are always a joy to talk too i hope you and your freind have a wonderfull time this weekend the place your going sounds very remote and beautifull beware of the blair witch have tons of fun for me so glad to hear your life is going well Ditto that -- hope everything looks up soon. I'm kinda in the same boat -- no substitute teaching in the summer so I gotta find something to keep me afloat till about September.Memorial Day weekend was cool, they have a big three-day festival in downtown Little Rock called Riverfest every year on this weekend. They have carnivals, lots of food, and concerts. Then it's capped off by a HUGE fireworks show on the last night. We saw Huey Lewis & the News and Sawyer Brown Friday night (the Huey Lewis show wasn't as entertaining as the Sawyer Brown show but I did think of ShelleyR's girl Sarah when they played "Heart and Soul"  . Then we watched Better than Ezra Saturday night, then 38 Special and ZZ Top Sunday night.
There were also these big parachute-type firewoks during the fireworks show and I tried to catch one but people kept beating me to them. I did touch one though and I happened to grab one of the hot spots and burned my hand on it. 
I'll put in my video of the fireworks so maybe it'll cheer you up.  There's some pretty good ones in there if you're patient. The parachute thingys show up when it gets down to about the 0:50 mark (although they just show up as red and white blobs on this  ). And then there's a big flourish of explosions right after the parachutes come in.
Oh and hopefully I'll get some video from that MMA event that we're doing this Saturday the 31st. Problem thus far with the camcorder/high-quality videos has been getting the video from the camcorder onto the computer.  But I'm working on it...I worked memorial weekend but did have some time to go to the shore and take the boys on the rides and play some boardwalk games.. they had fun.. and we did have a small little cookout with some neighbors, so it was all good.. I watched the UFC Saturday night also.. My hubby is a huge Fan.. So we watched with some friends.. Are you into the Mixed marshal arts to.. They have a event gong on at the prudential center this Saturday.,. My sister that lives in new Hampshire and her husband own a marshal arts gym and they are training a guy that will be fighting on Saturday at the prudential center in jersey..She asked if i could go but money is so tight right now the tickets were kinds of expensive so i passed.. I wish i could go because i haven't seen my sister in 3 years so i would of loved to spend some time with her.. Oh well maybe next time.. If this guy does well he can get a contract with the ufc.. |
