New to chelation therapy

Back to Autism Information >> Next Topic

My son had a first round of IV chelation therapy.  It was an absolute nightmare.  The DAN! doctor then told us that she suggests 10 sessions.  UGH.  He is only 4 years old.  I am wondering where to find out information on the oral and transdermal chelation therapies.  We are waiting for the lab results of this initial dose to see if this is even his problem.  But, I would really appreciate any help from people who are already working with the oral chemicals.  I would like to be more educated in chelation options for the next appt. in a few weeks.

We are doing suppository (not fun, but better than IV I guess).  We just did our first round and I haven't seen a difference, but maybe the next round will be better.  My DAN thinks that the suppository gets more of the metal out without negatively effecting the stomach, liver, etc.

Was it a nightmare because of his reaction during the session or afterwards when the metals were stirred up.  As Jenniha stated, there is a suppository method, which I use for my 2 ASD kids.  I do know that with each session, children become more comfortable w/ the IVs.  My kids get the IV Glutathione (which is similar to IV chelation, but w/o the chelating agent).  The first time it was difficult, but with each following session it was easier for them because they association 'feeling better' with the session.

We have done the transdermal and it was not effective at pulling metals.  In fact, it stirred up a significant amount of yeast.  We never did the oral because my kids still had issues w/ their gut and there was concern that their gut would not absorb the adequate amount in the oral.

As a parent, you should always follow your gut and do what you feel is best for your child.
