assesments and testing here is another good point for you to all know~ For speech/language assessments most children on the spectrum standardized tests are NOT accurate representations of the child's ability. PLUS...these are standardized for "normally developing" children. Informal assessments can often be better for these children. HOWEVER...i think it is really important that part of the onformal assessment should be a thorough parent interview about the child's abilities in the home environment!! AND an interview with the teacher about classroom abilities.
