Families with ASD is proud to announce our 3^rdAnnual Autism Expo will be

on Saturday, September 13^th, 2008, 1p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Northern Kentucky Convention Center, located at One West RiverCenter Blvd., Covington, KY 41011.

This year’s Autism Expo will be held in conjunction with the 4 Bridges 4 Kids Race Festival and Health Expo. For more information on the race, please go to www.4bridges4kids.org.

Our Autism Expo is FREE to everyone. Last year’s event had 75 plus Service Providers, Therapist, Doctors, and Organizations that work with children and adults with autism set up free information booths so that families could come to one location to receive a wealth of information. We also had an Autism Store with vendors selling Autism Awareness Items. We had over 3,000 attendees at our Expo last year.

There will also be free activities throughout our Expo that are child and family centered. Each family will also receive a free copy of the 2008 Families with ASD Autism Yellow Pages Resource Guide. This is a wonderful resource that lists autism providers in the Greater Cincinnati/ Northern Kentucky area. We are also currently working on getting sponsorship for more great guest speakers that will again be free to the public at our Autism Expo!

When our son, Luke, was diagnosed with Autism in 1998, the rate of Autism was 1 in 10,000. Now that the rate has risen to a rate of 1 in every 150 children. The need for family support in our area is great. If you don’t directly know someone with autism, you most likely will within the next year. Families with ASD wants to help families connect with the resources in our area that could help support their families. Our organization is working to help families put the pieces of the autism puzzle together.
