Help your kids prepare for Easter and get in the holiday mood!

Sample social story:

http://www.slatersoftware.com/Easter%20Social%20Story.pdf - dying Easter eggs (illustrated)

Free online games and stories:

http://www.meddybemps.com/easter/index.html - 2 stories and 5 games, including one that only requires wiggling the mouse.

http://www.thecolor.com/Category/Coloring/Easter.aspx - online interactive coloring pages.

http://www.primarygames.com/holidays/easter/easter.htm - several Easter games and a 20 piece online bunny puzzle.

http://www.kidsturncentral.com/games/jigsaws/jigsawse.htm - various 20 and 48 piece online Easter puzzles.

http://learningbox.com/bunny/title.htm - Cute story about how a bunny was shipwrecked to an island with candy plants, and decided to share the candy with the children of the world.

http://funschool.kaboose.com/fun-blaster/easter/ - some good games.  My kids liked the Whack-a-mole type game.  There's also a game called Peter Rottentail which is a good challenge for older kids (a little too hard for my 9 year old).

http://www.thekidzpage.com/freekidsgames/games/flipflop/east erflipeasy1.html - logic/strategy game Easter flip.

http://basketmakers.org/topics/fun/tictactoe_2/tictactoe_2.h tm - Easter tic tac toe.

http://www.thebricktestament.com/the_life_of_jesus/index.htm l - the Easter story illustrated with Lego bricks.

Printables:

Free online videos:

Here are a bunch of Easter videos from youtube.  Some are not for younger children, and some have 2 or 3 parts (I only listed part 1.  The other parts will show up as related videos when you go to youtube).  I've listed them in no particular order.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_5jwLb1R0qE - classic bunny cartoon

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w8xW5IUvhpM - Bosko's Easter Eggs.  Cute ending, but the cartoon is very old and the Little Black Sambo-like characters might offend.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XULijF3xKUA - Timmy and the Easter Bunny "Hide and Seek".  More for older kids.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k7BBXCK8K00&feature=relat ed - Bugs Bunny Easter yeggs

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D4RPQmyo21k&feature=relat ed - Bugs Bunny Easter Funnies 1977

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l3SstB-En-E - Catillac cats "Cottontails, chickens and colored eggs"

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4wqxFJj9V7U - Sesame Street "The Cookie Bunny"

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=skVQiHnJ3i0 - Yakky Doodle Easter Duck

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BbV_iRpBZ3Q - dancing bunny (short)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V8QHZPMeyNs - homemade Transformers Easter egg hunt (a little violent at the end)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kCNA3kG3oFc - "Juniper Lee meets the Easter Bunny" part 1 of 3.  For age 7 and up.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r0wTeUXSxgg - Peter Cottontail song "Be mine today"

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FVU8S5HQY_8 - homemade Smurf video with Peter Cottontail song.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OeLw-jWx3-0 - Super Chicken and the Easter Bunny.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DrjZt0YFApM - Easter Bunny silly blues song.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=38W6AA-RsyA&feature=relat ed - black & white classic cartoon version of Peter Cottontail.  Drama with the big bad wolf!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lxZeAiNTJKg - a fable where a rabbit offers to sacrifice himself to feed a hungry begger, who was the man in the moon in disguise.  The rabbit ends up on the moon as the man's pet.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6Ub9RbxFRaM - "He is risen" Bible story cartoon.  Short clip.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TfJhWzrr_Js - Rolie Polie Olie Easter part 1 of 2.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0J8_CSkiUa8 - "It's Easter, Little Critter" read by the author Mercer Mayer.  Great story, but you might want to skip the 2 min.  45 sec. intro.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nE5C4-1bl9Q - sweet and colorful little film about what happens when the Easter Bunny gets a carrot.

hmmmm... I just wanted to add not that its a recource but I work in a warehouse, a major one that supplies many grocery stores around NY. We have an extra warehouse that is ONLY for water, Gatorade and candy for Haloween, Christmas, and Easter.

Anyways I should take some pics, tho security does not like that, I think you guys would not beleive the amount of just easter candy we have stored in this warehouse, and of course we shipped a good chunk of it out, we have been receiving this candy for mounths. We even get haloween candy during the summer!!!!

You have never seen this much candy in your lives, and I even got to take some home with me one day when I was learning how to drive the forklift first time and damaged several cases, probably totalling almost $100 in damaged goods but thats allowed when you learn . Anyways I got to take it home, 3 HUGE cases full of easter candy, I only like candy a little, and ended up giving them out to friends and a neghboor too a case and passed them out at a concert he went too, hehehe.

They were hundreds of plastic eggs with somethin inside, I almost donated them to a school, but because the case was damaged, they were not 'sealed' but I bet the kids would have loved that!

Hmmm... ok I just realized this post has nothing to do with anything.

Thanks for the links.  The one link led me to some online games that I've added to the list.

It was an interesting anecdote.  I like being able to get to know you a little better through your stories.  Keep 'em coming!  Smile
