PDD Help- need resourcesHello, I have a friend of the family that has a son that is 6, almost 7 and he was just diagnosed as PDD. She has asked me to help work with/teach her son. Does anyone have any teaching resources/ lessons / tips for teaching a child w/ PDD? Hi and welcome! Bless you for taking this on, our kids need good teachers out there!!!If you check the educational forum...the first post has a 10-step guideline which I think is right-on....There are actually several posts there that may help you. Good luck to you and to your friend's son! Happy learning! ~Lesley Hi Kewlchick. In addition to what Lesley has suggested make sure you get an APPROPRIATE IEP in place for this chil with school right away! Check into your local Autism Society of America chapter and educate yourselves as much as possible! What form of PDD was the child Dx'd with? Is he verbal? high functioing? Low functioning? What are his main issues? I would also suggest checking out the posts regarding Sensory issues as it seems to be a big thing the majority of our kids deal with! The Newbie thread has alot of great resources that may also be helpful
