	We have chosen a date for a fundraiser,5K,silent auction,Autism friendly carnival. t will be held in Springfield Ohio August 17th,2008. The event is held at Buck Creek State Park. This will be the 2nd annual event for SMS. SMS or Smith-Magenis Syndrome is a deletion on the 17th chromosome. Characteristics include Autistic like behaviors,hypotonia,speech delay (can be severe),behavior problems,mood swings,angry outbursts,hoarse or hypernasal speech,sleep issues (not sleeping much and frequent awakenings between 5:30-6:30 am,facial characteristics.
