The weather here in Texas has been gloomy and so WINDY this week! The sun is peeking today..but it's so cold and so freaking windy. Its depressing:( This weather is a great recipe for getting sick! Take care of yourself & lots of hot chocolate~stay warm:) wow and I thought new england was subject to many changes!!!Hey Nick, were going to get lots and lots of snow from that system your talking about. It is supposed to hit us around 11pm. It was 49 here in Indiana Tuesday very warm for this time of the year, but Tuesday night by midnight it was 15 degrees with 30 mile winds. Now we have a Snow warning until tomorrow at 7pm. I love snow storms and love getting prepared for them. Bought lots of food today and expecting the kids will be home from School tomorrow.
Hey Nick, were going to get lots and lots of snow from that system your talking about.
Do you mind if I ask where in IN you live. I have a visitor traveling from central IN tomorrow to northern OH and I'm getting nervous about the weather. Flip, I'm in Fort Wayne. The snow here is supposed to start around 10pm and last until tomorrow afternoon, calling for possible freezing rain by mid morning turning back to snow. 6-12 inches of snow by tomorrow night. Snow warning until tomorrow at 7pm. Hope this helps ya out.
Flip, I'm in Fort Wayne.
Okay, after we had an ice storm in the southern part of the state on Friday of last week, highs near freezing, the temperatures rebounded and Tuesday our high reached 76 degrees. Then this front came through and with it came winds that reached over 50 mph at times -- did some damage to buildings and trees around the state that had gotten a bit weathered and were not cut out for high winds. By 4:00 Tuesday (the same day it had been 76) it was 48 degrees, and the low that night dropped to 28. Essentially a 50 degree drop in about 12 hours. Yesterday we never got out of the 30s, and then today we're getting this miserable rain/sleet mixture. I had what looked like crushed ice all over my car this morning. We won't make it out of the 30s today either. We have crazy changing weather like that as well. I hate that I never know what to wear or how to dress the kids. I always get sinus headaches when the weather changes like that. Louisiana has been just about as crazy. My poor fever wracked body can attest to that. Almost 80 freaking degrees one day then bam...22 the next. Jacob's been sick...I've been sick...B hasn't caught anything so far, knock on wood. I saw snow the other day...then yesterday the winds hit. The only cool thing is that Jacob can now say the words "wind", "rain", "tree", and "cold" lol. The wind scared him so he'll say, "wind, whooooo." The giant oak in our front yard was doing some very interesting dancing during the high winds and lightening yesterday. He really liked watching that. We have 3 days of warmer weather comming up this week. Man...I wish summer would get here. OK get this, guys: our coldest official low for January at Little Rock was 14 degrees on January 3. Our warmest official high for January was 78 degrees, which occurred three days later on January 6.Loki I saw that storm system on weather.com -- looks like it's slamming the entire midwest with snow/ice and headed into the northeast from there. Meanwhile the south end of it has been hammering the southeast from Louisiana all the way into Georgia with severe weather. It has some of the heaviest rainbands down there that I've ever seen on a non-tropical system. Wisconsin has been just about the same roller coaster. On Tuesday it was almost 50 degrees in the afternoon. Between 4 and 5pm it dropped to 25 and we had freezing rain and a little snow. Wed the schools were closed because the temp was -15 and the wind chill was -40. Last night it started snowing and hasn't stopped, so we have about 7 inches of snow. It is a little better, though as far as temp goes. It was 25 when I left for work. I can handle the 20's. But the below zero is bad.
