hello everyone, i am a father of a wonderful 17 month old boy. im worried about him, and looking for some advice on where to start. he is showing some signs of autism i think. 1. he isnt talking yet. 2. has all kinds of different sounds high.3 wont respond to his name when called.4 has to put everything in his mouth. 5 picks things off floor eats them, picks lint off couch eats that anything he sees on floor he has to try to pick up and eat.6 no pointing or waving. 7 walks on toes sometimes.8 started to say mama dada night night and after mmr shot nothing. ive been told these all r signs of autism. these r some things he does that r positive. has good eye contact , likes looking in mirror,if i go hide around corner he comes and finds me,reaches out when he wants to be picked up, when i feed him he grabs spoon or fork and has to feed himself,when i dress him puts arms in shirt, lifts feet when going to put his shoes on,when i put his coat on he goes to the door,so anyways i was wondering where to turn from here. when i bring it up to his mother she gets mad at me and says he fine and so does everyone else in her family. she has no clue im a member of this wonderful forum. but from what ive read the earlier the better when caught so i dont want to waste time. who do i contact and how to have test done he has 18 month checkup in 2 weeks but dr keeps saying he is fine im not so sure. thanks sad daddy |
