There are three different strains of the influenza virus, called A, B, and C, that is responsible for flu. However, most flu cases are caused by influenza A. The influenza B and C viruses are less common and cause an illness with milder symptoms Each year, the influenza virus attacks over 100 million people around the world .The common cold and flu are typical viral infections .It causes asthma, spiraling and their symptoms are out-of-control. Viral infections are very horrible and are passed through person to person contact. The secret to helping cease the spread is by hand washing. The best way to control the flu is through vaccine immunization (Tamiflu). influenza vaccine should not be given to the people who are allergic to eggs. Vaccine helps to the body to create antibodies, which are infection-fighting cells, which will protect from the flu virus. Personally I think this is a terrible place to advertise your med. I agree, I'll NEVER give my children the flu vaccine ever again. I never did with my older NT dd, but Ansley was an infant during the time they were urging everyone to have their vacs because of all the people that were dying from the flu. Our docs strongly recommended it b/c she was so young, now I wonder if it wasn't scare tactics from the pharmaceutical companies to move the drug (boy, that sounds paranoid doesn't it?). She had flu vaccinations in 2003 and 2004. It was after the 2nd flu vac that we noticed an obvious regression. In Spring 2005 she was dx'd w/ autism. I'm not saying that the flu vac caused her autism, but I know flu vacs still have thimeresol. It makes you wonder....it's just not worth the risk in my opinion. Horanimals is right...........wrong place to advertise..........there are many on this forum who have VERY strong opinions on this issue. I for one tell EVERYONE with children that they should absolutely steer clear of flu shots, no matter what the "professionals" tell you. I haven't vaccinated my kids for anything since their dx but Tetanus (a real risk here in Australia) and Diptheria and Whooping cough. I will be very careful about any other vaccines and I will have to weigh the risks of the disease against the possible side effects. My Doctor doesn't even hassle me anymore because he knows he won't win.![]() [QUOTE=skyblue] There are three different strains of the influenza virus, called A, B, and C, that is responsible for flu. My son had flu vaccine in winter of 2008 and he was diagnosed in spring 2009. I would rather live with flu than with autism. |
