Applying for NC medicaid for disability

I am curious to know if anyone here lives in NC and has applied for medicaid for disability.  I have good insurance thru my job (I work for the school system in my county) but, in order to get my son more, I would be paying a lot out of pocket.  He has only be recently diagnosed (in Dec.), and EI is "getting" involved. I feel that in order to get him all he needs, I also need to look outside of EI.  Right now, EI says that he needs 1 hour a week of general therapy.  I have chosen the service provider, but have heard nothing.  The agency is coming on Tuesday to do his FULL speech and OT eval, which I know will get him more hours.  He is practically non-verbal.  He says a few words, but most is gibberish, and he is extremely frustrated as are we.  I have a friend who is a speech therapist for our school, and she works during the summer with someone who could help him now, but only takes medicaid and tricare.  I have the BCBC state health plan PPO.  We have also done the paperwork for him to be seen by TEACH in Wilmington, and hope that they can help us also.

I am sorry this is sort of long, but it is all confusing to start. Basically, I am wondering what I need to have to apply for medicaid for disability. Any help that can be given is greatly appreciated.
