Gluten free Pretzels,

I was wondering we are giving these to my son and he will eat them, however yeast is listed as an ingredient. Isn't this a catch 22? If your child is on a GF/CF isn't yeast something that they need to stay away from as well?

I believe your body normally has certain yeasts such as candida to help break down foods, such as carbs.  The problem occurs when there is an imbalance and you have too much of one kind.  There are actually yeasts that eat other yeast.

The yeast in the gfcf pretzels are okay.  Many have too much candida.

Many ASD people are sensitive to yeast, as well as gluten and casein...I know I am.  There is nothing in yeast, though, that would be detrimental to someone sensitive to gluten if they didn't also have a yeast sensitivity.  Too many yeasty foods, however, can lead to a Ph imbalance in the body and eventually lead to overgrowth or a yeast sensitivity.  Heck, that goes for ALL foods, though:  eat them too often and you are more likely to develop allergy reactions down the road.
