Teach me language? available where?

Back to Autism Information >> Next Topic

I am in Australia and I have been trying to buy 'Teach me language' and its companion forms for a while now. My husband will be visiting Housten, TX, sometime next month. Can anyone let me know where can he buy it  from, are there any autism specific bookstores at all? Can it be purchased online? If so, can anyone please tell me where to look, my brother in law lives there so I can get it delivered there in advance. Thanks.

I have tried Amazon but its out of stock there. I placed a order in October (price quoted at 59.95 USD I beleive) but they keep on extending the delivery date which now has gone up to April 2008. I would really like to have it for my HFA son. Would appreciate any responses, thanks.

I ordered my copy from here:

I saw it at http://www.difflearn.com/.

Here it is on ebay for a bargain:) Plus you can get the manual..I always go to ebay or half.com first for books..so much cheaper! Good luck:)

I just checked eBay and it apparently sold. It's also on Amazon:

I bought it before most of us had Internet access and, as I remember it, I had to send away to Canada.  I no longer have it, or I'd look up the publisher for you.  I made up my own forms. These are more effective because they can be tailored to your child's own interests.  Mass forms are useful for the classroom.  I'd get the manual first and get the forms only if you decide you need them.  When I got the book,  the forms did not yet exist.

Just read your post about trying Amazon.  Sorry about that.  I remember paying $65 ten years ago, so $59.95 is right.  Maybe you can start a post asking if anyone here is willing to sell you their copy and mail it to you. Or put "Texas" in the title of the post in case anyone near where your husband will be will have a source.  Good luck. It's a great book.

Mary,

I don't know if they have anything like this where you live, but here in Texas we gave a State Department of Health Services library.  They have an Early Childhood Intervention section, too.

I check out books from them all the time that are the expensive, professional type books on autism.  Ours has Teach Me Language.  They mail the books to me free, I just have to pay return postage.

Thanks everyone for your responses. I have bought it from difflearning website and they tell me that the order is in progress. I should have the book soon. I have ordered the companion forms as well in case I decide to have them afterwards.

Cheers!

Mary
