SHE"S WEARING PANTS!!!! | Autism PDD

I know how you feel!  My son stopped wearing pants for months.  We had to do 6 weeks of brushing every 2 hours along with OT doing sensory integration therapy 45 min. twice a week to get him wearing pants again.  He now wears them all day and he will even wear PJ's to bed.

Congratz.  That is HUGE!

Congratulations on surpassing that hurdle.  BTW...wearing pants is no small thing!  If your child is having such difficult sensory issues, and then that same child overcomes the problem....that is huge.

Pants.  Trousers. Dungarees.  Slacks.  Whatever you call them, Brnire's daughter is wearing them....and that is wonderful!

yay pants! It's funny but people outside the autism world would look at us like we're crazy.. but in my mind getting her to wear pants is basically deserving of a cake huh? yay and congrats! what was she wearing before? leggings?

That's great! We as parents get to appreciate the little things that other parents just take for granted!

Everytime she completed a task like brush hair, brush teeth, potty, wash hands, choose tights or pants she got to remove the post a note and place it on the back of the paper until all were completed. This was great because the task didn't seem so big and she knew when she got to earn her prize. I have been picking up little things at the dollar store...her favorite store in the whole world!

I am so proud of her. This is a major accomplishment because she has not worn pants in two years. And is a huge relief to me because it just started snowing yesterday. We have been working on this for weeks now.

School is letting her take her socks off as long as she keeps her shoes on. But, at quiet time, she gets to sit on a special carpet piece and she likes to rub her feet on it.

Just wanted to pass this along to those of you still having problems with sensory needs and thought maybe an incentive would help you too.

God Bless!

Wonderful news!  Thanks for sharing:) With winter coming the timing is perfect!Daniel's clothing issues stopped with ot help. Now he where's it all. He still favors Nilon pants though when really cold. Sleeps year around in his Spider man thick flan blanket. My sister hated pants when young and now not the way as an adult. She is the girlier one of us 2 though.
