Change of Provider without parent consent | Autism PDD

I am in a pickle... After a 4 IEP meetings, I have finally received a decent offer from the district. They will fund 25 hours of in-home ABA and 8 hours of supervision, as well as 1 hour of private speech , 1 hour of private OT. It is a great offer. The IEP states that the ABA will be provided by an NPA (Non Public Agency) ... which is currently the agency I am with , and that I have been funding privately since September. My lawyer is trying to have them add the name of the agency into the IEP, but they r saying that they don't do that and that if for any resean I am unhappy with the agency, and their name is written into the IEP, it will take a brand new IEP meeting just to get things changed. My fear is that they could have the power once I sign the IEP to switch agencies to "their agency of choice". Can they do that ??? My lawyer says they can since the IEP only states NPA... Has anyone had this happen to them?// I live in California.... TZOYA???? Any input???

Parents do not have a choice of provider.

Well an update on that issue!!! I had them put it in the IEP that any change of provider has to be accompanied by parent written consent !!! Yay!!! Great news Lalloo! You did great. Now can you get regional center to fund
some more hours?

One thing to note, we had a hard time with the school district because when
we changed NPA's the name of our old NPA was written on the IEP. They
totally took us to town on that one. So I think that how you have it written is
better. Relationship with venders can change.
