My friend works for the public school system. She says there is some program called "Boardmaker". Has anyone had any experience with this program?
I use it at work. It makes pictures using Mayer-Johnson to use for switches or as a picture exchange system (PECS). What did you need to know about it specifically?

Is this a method which is effective in teaching kids with ASD??I use the pictures for occasional prompts. For instance, in swimming lessons he kept jumping in when it was not his turn. We made one with a pic of a kid sitting on the side of the pool, that said "waiting my turn" and another of a kid swimming that said, "my turn to swim." I have some folks who will print out what I need.
I know many ASD kiddos use the PECS system and it has been very effective. You could do a search for PECS on this site.
I use it and love. Make pecs, schedules, social stories.
I needed to buy some off e-bay, already made . I couldn't wait on the school *** sorry bad typer.****** ouch 399.99
I find it very effective as an alternative means of communication, for scheduling, for assisting with transitioning etc.
