Has anyone had experience with Boardmaker | Autism PDD

My friend works for the public school system.  She says there is some program called "Boardmaker".  Has anyone had any experience with this program?

I use it at work.  It makes pictures using Mayer-Johnson to use for switches or as a picture exchange system (PECS).  What did you need to know about it specifically?

Is this a method which is effective in teaching kids with ASD??

I use the pictures for occasional prompts. For instance, in swimming lessons he kept jumping in when it was not his turn. We made one with a pic of a kid sitting on the side of the pool, that said "waiting my turn" and another of a kid swimming that said, "my turn to swim." I have some folks who will print out what I need.

I know many ASD kiddos use the PECS system and it has been very effective. You could do a search for PECS on this site.

I use it and love.  Make pecs, schedules, social stories.

I find it very effective as an alternative means of communication, for scheduling, for assisting with transitioning etc.
