Transition IFSP | Autism PDD

It might be helpful to get the IFSP service providers to give input on the appropriate services for your IEP.  Locally the School district re-evaluates with school district staff anyway, but recommendations from IFSP staff will make a better case for services, and the amount of services.

That being said, there are rumors locally that the EI services providers are under a gag understanding in IEP meetings, along the lines of if they speak for a child their contract will not be renewed.

Imagine that the state matters, my recollection is that services before age 3 vary from state to state.  For example, CA has the Lanterman Act that mandates services.

I have my IFSP meeting on Tuesday as the boys have been getting services for one year.  It will be our last formal meeting until the boys are ready to transition out of EI into the school district.  Is there any advise anyone has as to things I should make sure are covered before the transition meeting.  I don't want to be unprepared for that in the spring.  I live in NY, btw, if that matters.

TIA
