Anyone ever tried it with there child/children? What were the results? And would you recommend?
The reason I ask is Matthews OT at school has asked if she could do it with him and I really don't know anything about it except whats on the internet, and thats not alot.

I looked at that link and it's not the same CD's we use but it sounds like the same principle (maybe?).... our OT actually lets me borrow hers for now, so we haven't had to buy any. We use KIDZ JAMZ, Baroque music in modulation, and Hemi-Sync.
My ds OT is getting certified in a listeneing program, which is what i've heard it called. My sister in law who is an OT also had friends who have tried this with there children and have seen great results. I haven't looked into it yet, I'm not sure it is covered in the EIP, and i beleive it will be costly. I will check out your link on it.
Thanks, Danielle
Is it called "listening program" or is there some specific name for it? I haven't heard of anyhting specificall called "listenign program" Do you have any links to check into?
If Matthews OT recommended it I would be asking her for more information about it. Also what are her qualifications in working with autistic children? working with kids with fine/gross motor skill delays or even some sensory issues doesnt mean the OT understands autism.
Are you talking about Modulated Music and/or Hemi-Sync? We've started a program using these along with regular classical music as well. Ansley responds really well to music (I'm a musician, so she's been around it alot). She has done pretty well with the listening program but it is still quite a trick to get her to keep the headphones on since she has sensory issues with her head (which is weird, because she'll wear her sister's blue goggles on her face!)
Anyway, the modulated music is supposed to help kids with auditory processing problems to organize thoughts and focus. It does help to soothe Ansley and calm her down somewhat. I've used the headphones on short shopping trips, strolling her in our neighborhood, etc. It keeps her calm and quiet for at least a little while. I think it's also comforting to her to hear the familiar music. Our OT always plays it on the stereo during treatment.
Here is a link to one website that does give some info on it:
