I never actually had the tests done for my kids. Its tricky here in Australia and I would have had to send specimens to the US at the time. So I just started by gradually eliminating the casein. I say a big difference in the kids behaviour. Then I tred the casein again (at our paediatricians suggestion as she was sceptical) and the behaviours returned) So that decided it for us. My daughter had chronic diarrhoea that was only relieved by going gluten free as well. She has been tested for coeliac 's and it came back negative. However it is still poosible to have a gluten intolerance. Good luck and hope it helps. Liz

I went casein free first and got a noticeable difference. I wanted the test results before doing gluten free... in a bit of denial I was

Best thing I ever did plus all the supplements we have done as well and the antivirals and now heading into chelation. Our son is a different person.

The urine porphyrin is more reliable for mercury. Often the hair test doesn't show up mercury accurately (or aluminium). Some metals show up accurately on hair tests and others dont. If you want a breakdown of this, let me know and I will get the  book out I was just reading about this.

Hi All,

Been lurking and decided to join.  I have a seven year old son, with autism and seizures.  Connor had slow weight gain issues as an infant along with developmental delay.  He was scoped for celiac at about 8 mos. old.  No cause was ever given for slow weight gain after seeing gastrologists and they finally told our pediatrician to "leave him be" with weight he's gaining but at his own pace.  Development became the main issue and rightfully, so.

Here we are at age 7 and I finally decided to "just do it" with the diet. I didn't try it sooner because I figured since he was scoped for celiac disease and the test was negative he wouldn't be a GF candidate. Now I am willing to try new things. I started the casein free part about 3 weeks ago.  I just sent blood work into Great Plains Lab to test for food allergies, essential fatty acids, immune deficiency, glutathione.  I am about to collect urine and stool for the Organic Acid/Peptide testing, amino acid, and gluten/casein peptide.  I will also collect hair for heavy metal testing.

I haven't noticed much change with Connor since starting the casein free part, but I am not discouraged and am willing keep going.  My husband however, keeps saying what if the tests come back negative for the gluten/casein allergy...do we keep doing the diet?  I guess his doubt is getting to me.  Do I continue this diet despite what the test results say?  Has anyone done the diet regardless of the testing and had positive results?  I've been trying out the GF foods and adding things before I start removing.  I am prepared to go for it and I am anxiously awaiting the testing results.  Any info/advice will be great:)

Thanks for reading my post!
