How much would that cost Me to do so?  Sure would be nice to help out with the bills here.  I read ONE of your "links" today.  It was VERY informative for me!  Thank YOU!  My hubby "thinks" that spankings will teach him when it comes down to "..can't take it anymore.."  Now that I have read THAT "link" I KNOW that I was right not to spank.   I keep TRYING time outs, but he can climb outta the playpen now.  I do, however, have a booster chari where I can "make" him sit, and turn the timer on.  Discipline is sooo hard cuz we keep "hoping" they will "think" about what they did AND why they are there!  Does anyone else here feel tired all the time?  Cocotrt - have you checked into getting a single parent grant or scholarship and going back to school and gettign a degree to do medical transcription from home?  It might be worth checking into.

Hello Im new to the board and I have a son that was diagnosed with PPD at the age of 2. Im a single mother and was working at that time full-time when I was told my son was Autistic I blamed myself for working and haven’t held a job for a long period of time in a while. My only income is SSI and welfare I have no other help, no one will keep my son for a long period of time and that’s one reason I cant keep a job. I don’t trust any daycare with my son because of what happened in the past. My son is very smart and is very loveable. The reason Im asking for help is my son is 11yrs old and I cant find the right job. I would prefer to work from home doing customer service and something similar so Im hoping and praying someone can help me find a job that I can do from home that don’t cost me money. So I can be here for my son. I live in the dallas tx area and I have a computer and internet access so please help.

coctrt,
Just wanted to welcome you to the board and to assure you that being a working single mother had NOTHING to do with your child's diagnosis.  I am a SAHM and am very happily married and our son was dx with PDD NOS a few months ago.  It's frustrating to me for the speech therapists to tell me, "Talk to your son all day.  Describe what you're doing, get on the floor and play with him."  What do they think I did all day with him prior to his dx?  I did everything right and still he has this disorder.  So trust me, it's nothing you've done, so don't feel guilty.

Good luck with the job search.

Kellie
