I apologize in advance for asking a question that has been answered in
previous posts but I looked for them and could not find them.
Many of you believe that fish oil supplements are helping with speech
development. I would like to give it a try and my question is about dosage.
How much and how often. Did you consult a pediatrician first?
Thank you, Maria.I did not consult anyone but give 2 Coromegas a day - I really beleive it helps a little
Our 4 year old gets 1 tsp. of CLO daily. She takes it right off the spoon. :)
Our 1 year old gets 1/2 tsp. daily in 4 oz. of rice milk.
You might want to eliminate or cut back on other sources of vitamin A in your child's diet (especially the vitamin A Palmitate found in milk & processed foods, which is the "bad" kind). For details and dosages, visit Dr. Mary Megson's website: http://www.megson.com/readings.php. Scroll down to the "Personal & Professional Writings" section for a couple of interesting articles about the benefits of natural vitamin A for kids on the Spectrum. She strongly recommends also doing the GFCF diet if you want to see the full benefits of CLO.
We did one capsule 2x a day (nordic naturals) mixed with syrup. I came across fish oil while researching speech & myelin delays for my dd and found that people had wonderful results with fish oil..this was over 4 years ago when dd had no language..she is talking fully now but we used ABA and speech as well:)
