Anyone in OHIO???

I am desperate here to learn more about what our state has to offer and am just not finding any help.  My EI specialist isn't helping me at all.   All I have been offered is speech therapy 1 hour a week (the 20% that my insurance isn't paying for) and a therapy training grant to teach us Floortime.   There HAS to be more!! PLEASE help me find it!!

I am interested in more than just what money or services I can get... who are the good Drs?  Psychologists?  therapists? schools? etc??  Anything you have to offer!!

GREETINGS from your Tucky neighbor.....Our state will admit that autism exists, but thats about it for now (very, very limited services here). Hope you can find what you need. Michelle should be a wonderful resource for you!

Wow those are some GREAT links!!! Thanks!!

I live in Delaware county... in a northern suberb of Columbus.  My son is 2.5 (will be 3 in January) and was just recently diagnosed as PDD-NOS.  They think he'll later get an asperger's diagnosis but said he was too young for that now!?!?

Hi there!

We live in NE Ohio and are also quite frustrated with the apparent lack of services offered here.  We also can't find any 'good' doctors.  Everyone here just points us to the Cleveland Clinic (where they'll be happy to provide ABA training at $30,000/yr, after a 6-9 mo waiting list) and I haven't heard everything wonderful about the Cleveland Clinic, so that's not going to do it for us!  Plus, we didn't get Luke dx'd at such a young age so that we could wait 6-9 mos for treatment!

Not sure what a doctor would do at this point for us anyway.  For now, we have the dx and therapists and that's all we need.  Will try to climb over the next hump of preschool when we get there!

Good luck finding what you need.  Our Early Intervention is providing an hour-long EI visit weekly and an hour of 'group speech therapy' weekly.  They also provide a caseworker visit once per month and performed PT and OT evals.

Kellie
We don't even have a caseworker   I am so frustrated by that... everyone keeps asking me who are caseworker which makes it even worse!!  Our EI specialist STILL hasn't come out to our house and according to our IFSP she's supposed to come out twice a month and we wrote that in JULY!!!  It just seems like there has to be better out there!!
