Halloween success! | Autism PDD

WOW!  He just did so incredible I'm stunned.  We walked about 1/2 mile and his whole bucket got filled.  He said "trick or treat", "thank you" and "happy Halloween" at every single house!

When we got home, I sat out front with him and we welcomed kids to our door.  He obviously was repeating something he heard on TV, but to kids that came to the door he would say "great costume!  Here's a treat!" and put the candy in their bag.  It was just adorable.

I'm just so completely overwhelmed by his progress.

Am I the same woman that posted a few months ago that my kiddo was going backwards?  I  never thought that at this age he could suddenly "bloom" ... but here he is, finally at 5 1/2, just doing these amazing things.  I'm overwhelmed every single day.

PLEASE ... those with kids at 3, 3 1/2, 4 ... that feel incredibly frustrated and think nothing will ever get better, look back at my posts six months ago and keep the faith and stay positive.    I'm getting blown away all the time lately.

Very cool!

We got a few "trick or treats" and a lot of "thank yous" out of my son tonight. Not much eye contact, but that is okay. This is so new to him and he was very tired today.

i miss trick or treat! That is soo awesome! Good job Nick!

Quinn surprised me this year too. When it was almost time to go out he said to me "I changed my mind I don't want to go" My heart sank....
Then I said how bout you put your costume on for pictures and we'll go to a few neighbors houses. He put on his costume and 5 minutes later said "Okay Mom I'll go" Although he kept asking how many more houses and how long would we be out, but I got him to stay out for an hour. I couldn't believe it.
