I hope I'm putting that the right way. I'm currently having a migraine and when I'm having a migraine, my brain kind of misfires. Anyway, C generally can say a few words that are just one syllable, a couple that are two syllables but he repeats the same syllable even if they should be different, and a couple that are two syllables and he does say them distinctly (he said "baby" the other day, instead of "ba-ba," for instance). But today HE USED THREE and THEY ARE ALL DIFFERENT and we are flipping out in excitement over here. My husband was playing peek-a-boo with our toddler and suddenly C said, "peek-a-boo." Clear as a bell. All three sounds are different! He didn't say "pee-ah," or "boo-boo", either of which I might have expected for his first tries. No, he said all three sounds and they were exactly accurate. My husband and I nearly passed out. I hope this doesn't sound trivial...it is huge to us...HUGE. He also signed three words together: "Want more please," without prompting. That too is huge. The most he's been able to do up until this point was two words, and not often. I'm very excited. Congratulations!!!!! That is a huge milestone. Go C! ![]() Not trivial at all - it's a great accomplishment - congratulations! Wow! Way to go, C! That's quite an accomplishment! That is AWESOME way to go ![]() ![]() ![]() WHAHOO!!! We counted syllables, grunts..raised arm ect..kept us motivated and it was so rewarding when they increased! It was so long ago we were where you are right now and it just gets better! I don't believe in trivial when it comes to our kiddos! Everything is HUGE! They work so hard at everything they do and deserve the praise when they accomplish it!! Or even try for that matter! So YAY Colin! That is sooo great!! I've noticed lately, he is also much more cranky...clingy...I wonder if learning something new and being more emotional go hand-in-hand, at least for Colin? He seems to almost get a little "scared" when he learns something new, yet at the same time, he's motivated. Today, I had to carry him to the bus and he had his face in my neck and the bus driver said, "He's much more expressive lately," which is true. Thanks again. :) How wonderful! It is super huge!!! Yeah!!! Nothing is every trivial!! I remember counting the words as well. ttfn THat is totally AWESOME!!! I love that he is being expressive as well. Congratulations and keep up the great work GREAT!!!!!! Your C sounds so much like my C- same age-4, and sounds like language skills are very close. I have never heard anyone else explainit where it sounded like what my C does! Congrats on the increases!!!Congratulations! I've read on here before from others that their child has a regression and then a burst of advancement. Fantastic! Keep up the great work! |
