Well my son went to another OT/Speech session yesterday. He has been going now for a month and I can not believe all his progress. I listened to the therapists say how easily he was to redirect and how tolerable he was to everything they were doing w/him. Also he has been doing ALOT less echoing at home, but I was amazed to see how less he did it in therapy as well! Originally the SLP here at the school that I work at said he would probably do that until 1st grade but with all the improvments I have seen in the last month, I am hopeful that he will keep up with the spontaneous speech and will overcome this altogether much much quicker than expected.
School and the therapies seem to really be helping. I still dont know if I should be worried about him falling on the spectrum but if I still keep seeing more and more progress, I am hopeful that he won't, but will just have to wait and see as everyone who is working with him says.
But I just wanted to share what we have been experiencing with him lately. I really dont have any complaints. He is just always sweet and engaging to everyone. Just a lovable little boy. So I will keep praying for him and I hope this might have helped someone else.
That is so wonderful that your boy is making such a great progress in his speech and OT. Keep up the good work.
