Hello I have a 3year old daughter with autism. She was recently very ill with Kawaski syndrome. She had to be hospitalzed for 3days to recieve IVIG and be observed afterwards. That was about 2 weeks ago. She totally flabergasted me because she is saying 6 word sentences, identifying and saying the letters of words, talking more, more sociable, happier and has a better appetite. I have read some information on the benefits of IVIG today. I am just amazed of the things she's been saying a doing the past week. Does anyone have any information on IVIG therapy and how it effects autism.  ThanksI'm very interested in IVIG , can You please tell what product name doctors used???

I belive this is really helpfull in treatment of autism .
The core of autism .
best regards,
Monika

  Hi,

What is IVIG? Iv'e never heard of it.

Thanks for sharing.

IVIG stands for Intravenous immunoglobulin. Immunoglobulins are antibodies normally present in adult human blood. It is also found in breast milk(colostrum). That is one of the reasons breast milk is so encouraged. It is a blood product and it is infused through the veins over 1 to 2 hours. From what I have read so far, they recieve this therapy every four weeks. I have not gotten a clear understanding of how long the regimen is. I have also seen some information on a less invasive immuno therapy using immunoglobulin oral supplements. There are D.A.N. (Defeat Autism Now) doctors nation wide that utilize this and other therapies and diets. My daughter still goes to speech and occupational therapy. But I am trying to find out more information and alternatives for her in Nashville TN. She is doing so well that her therapists and teacher asked me to give some information about the therapy. Anyway the www.autism.com website has a nation wide list of physicians that participate in defeating autism.
