Hi laura,

that was me last back in March of this year.  Anna had was a little over 3 then.  It is very hard to let go and let someone else take over.

It gets easier over time but what helped me best was staying involved. I volunteered to read to the class a book, that helped me get to know her classmates better.

I also gave Anna a picture of me and her brother to keep in her cubby.

hi laura, im with you my son 3.5 autism/adhd starts next tuesday he will go 4x week from 8:20-2:50 all day special ed preschool. im nervous also and he will ride a special ed bus there. i am hoping he does well.

I have no words of wisdom. I am as nervous as a long tailed cat in a room full of rocking chairs. Ijust hope all the kids have a wonderful school year. I am not sure when my guy will start, there seems to still be lots of things to work out yet.

GO JON, Neel and Dakota!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What big , smart good boys- going to school!!!!!!

Karrie

Dakota seems to love school. i take him and pick him up. Daddy doesnt want him to ride the bus yet by himself, i think dakota would like the idea of the busride but wouldnt do too well if i couldnt ride with him.Good luck to every one that has a little one going to school, i'm sure they will doe well. keep us posted sherry

My son Noah started preschool last Friday. His 2nd day he came home and lifted up my chin and said "look". They must be showing him to make eye contact. Today when he came home the baby was screaming, I had to give her a diaper change and change her clothes cuz she spit up on herself so I didn't have a chance to sit down with Noah and ask him about his day yet, so as I was searching in the laundry basket for socks, Noah pulled my hair back so he could see my face and said "hi". He doesn't do this all the time, just when he comes home from school. I still feel overwhelmed and feel like I'm not doing enough (in fact, I'm not doing anything, just sending him to school). I left a message for the teacher to call me with the times that Noah has ST so I can sit in and learn how to help out at home.

I'm sure your little guy is going to have a blast. My boy comes homes with projects that he's done such as painting, and glueing pictures of school busses to construction paper. He loves stuff like that so I know he's having a great time.

Take care,

Stephanie

My jonathan is 3 year old .He will be starting preschool 3 days a week for 3 hours a day. I am alittle scared to think about what will happen to him in the real world. any adviceDeep Breaths!!!  It's scary yes, but it will be good for Jonathan!  It's a chance to interact a bit before going into kindergarten...and you just might find he enjoys it, and you'll enjoy a little time off too....all the while....deep breaths!  I'm sure they'll take good care of your baby!!!~LesleyNeel started a new  preschool last week. I think it's much harder on us than them- LOL! He did cry for a few minutes when I dropped him off- so that made it a little harder.

But being around other kids will be great for him! Is it a regular preschool or a preschool for special needs? Will he have support there?
My son jon thanks everyone for there words of wisdom

Well good luck to jonathan and to mom too
