Family grants, Mid-Atlantic region | Autism PDD

Need money towards something to improve your child's (or adult child's) quality of life?  The deadline is coming up fast, but I thought I'd let you know about this grant that I found at www.bellaonline.com's autism section.

Qualifty of Life Grants for Families of Children and Adults with Autism

The NeighborHeart Program serves families located in the Mid-Atlantic Region. The states covered are:

Virginia, Washington D.C., Maryland, Delaware, Pennsylvania, New Jersey and New York.

Families that care for children and adults with autism in this region can apply for a Quality of Life Grant in the range of 0 to 0. Special circumstances for over 0 will be considered. The prior year's income tax return will be needed to facilitate this stipend.

"You may apply to use the money for anything that improves the quality of life of your child." The deadline for applications to be accepted is November 1, 2007 with the grants being distributed by December 31, 2007.

These funds can be used for speech therapy, equine therapy, vision services, seminars, medical travel, registration fees, respite care, behavior therapy, remediation, physical therapy and conferences.

These are selected based on income level and/or financial necessity. It is also requested that grantees write a note of thanks explaining how the funds were helpful to their family.
