California fires

We're safe here.  The smoke in the air is awful so we have to keep the boys inside and they're going crazy.  I just talked to hubby at work and he said the ash was just collecting on his car and the sky where he works was really odd looking.

My BIL is stationed in San Diego.  He's fine as well.  He has been on the ship since yesterday morning.  But he is concerned about his apartment since he could see the fire from his window.  I hope his place is safe from the fire and that he has a chance to check it out before he goes out to sea.

Continued prayers for all the Southern California residents.
Everyone stay safe and keep us updated! We are all thinking of you.

These fires are nothing new in for us in Southern California, unfortunately.  I remember October of 1993, the wildfires were just as bad as these are.  Santa Ana winds make for hot, dry, windy weather.  Bad combination.  I'm about 10-15 from the closest fires.  Bad air, but otherwise we are safe

i'm safe tooIt just feels weird in the air here. Literally. The sunlight has taken on this
strange orange-y tint due to all the smoke. It's over 90 degrees here at
the beach--well into the 100s inland. To add to the effect, the smoky air
clogs up your sinuses--so I'm walking around in a fog.

I feel so bad for all the folks that have lost their homes and businesses,
and there doesn't seem like much I can do personally to help.

We have fires every year, it seems. But on a much smaller scale. We've
been in a pretty bad drought here this year-seriously I think we got like 2
days of rain this year. When the winds started, I immediately thought "Oh
no.."

Santa Ana winds are pretty strange in themselves--for anyone who
doesn't know--they feel like hot desert winds whipping in from the east.
It always feels creepy out when they come in--they are really warm, even
at night.

We are safe and sound, about 20 min away from Malibu. I'm saying a prayer for all of you  that the weather changes there  and the winds die down.   I hear its getting really bad and firefighters don't know what to do.Stay safe I am praying they soon go away these fires..  What is happening With all of these natural disasters. It is creepy.

I hope it ends soon for whoever lives anywhere near those fires. stay safe!

The pictures are unbelieveable. Really scary. Hope everyone is still O.K.

They are so scary!  I hope everyone is still safe!

Yep, we're nearby, but you wouldn't know it--the winds have blown the
smoke in the other direction. It's clear and sunny as can be. weird.

The winds were crazy, though. Really wild on Sat night.

But we are safe and happy, thanks for asking I'm safe, but not that far away.  And man, is it windy!  I'm used to high winds in my area, but this is insane  My neighbor's tree fell over yesterday, and there was an emergency crew in front of my house at 11:30 last night cutting it down.  The Castaic and Agua Dolce fires are about 10-15 miles away from me, so we can see the smoke, but we aren't in any danger I can't remember where all of our Ca. friends live. Is everyone safe and far away from the fires? God Bless All of You. This can be some big time trouble. I wonder what your children are thinking now.
