Abigail Adams

Back to Autism Information >> Next Topic

This quote was made in 1776 by Abigail Adams in a letter to her husband the president of the US at the time.  My GOD what a voice this woman must have had for the time she lived in.  I myself consider her to be the begining of the womans movement.  She must have been soooo awesome.

If particular care and attention is not paid to the ladies, we are determined to forment rebellion, and will not hold ourselves bound by any laws in which we have no voice or representation."

Edited to add that he was not president of the US at the time the letter was written I don't believe.  I think it along with other letters she wrote to him were while he was in Philidelphia with the continental congresses.
