Fantastic! It's so exciting when things start to click, isn't it?
there you go :)
He's doing so good, NYMOmmy. Congratulations - he's really making some outstanding progress lately.
I know Fred ... I am so thrilled!
Great work!
Nick doesn't like to walk up and down the stairs when he can help it. If I am with him, he will say "Can I hold you?" meaning ... he wants me to carry him up the stairs. Obviously, his pronouns are confused.
Today he said it to me, and I stopped and said ... "Nicky ... say can YOU hold ME" ... and he did! He said "Mommy, can you hold me?"
He is really making strides left and right since starting his TEACCH class. His speech is literally exploding! His echolalia is still very prevalent, and most of his speech, but he is listening to me and copying my sentences.
When he wants juice, he will usually say to me "where is my juice?" I asked him to repeat "Mommy, may I have some juice please?"
AND HE DID IT!!
I'm having to tell him to repeat things in the right context over and over, but the fact that he is doing it now is HUGE. He would never do that before!!!
