Congratulations! That is soo awesome. I love your new house.

How exciting!  I especially like the front porch.  Will your pig be able to live here?

I am worried about the piggy, until we get a fence put up(which will hopefully be very soon) I dont think he will be able to come. :(  It is way out in the country so it is unrestricted out there, we have cows in the field right behind the house. My oldest dd grandmother is going to allow him to stay with her, she has took a liking to him. I really love the front porch tooit has a little gate on it and even an old fashioned bell! As soon as we walked in we fell for it, of all the houses this one had really good vibes...I knew I would do whatever it took to get it.

Love the house and porch..jealous here!

We are smack in the city with traffic, noise and chaos..your new home looks cozy and all the land around it sounds like heaven:)

All you need is a porch swing and some glasses of ice tea....

We are buying a house(YAY!) and our closing date is Oct 30. any ideas on helping Trinity ajust to the new place? She has already been there twice and seems like she like it, but she is a very 'homie' person, so im a little worried. Id love to just move in over the next few weeks but it will prolly be more like over a week. I am worried b/c the therp who did her eval said moving(the first time) played a major role in her regression.

Thanks and much Love!~Nicole

Congradulations!  Snoopywoman moved this past year and recently posted the following about a book that might help kids with the transition.  In case you didn't see it, here's the link.

It's also available through Scholastic books for .99 if you know anyone who is school-age.

There have been several posts about moving. I'll search and see what I can find. I know I posted a LOT about it a few months ago!

Here's one link - but it's mainly about selling your house:

have recently moved myself. biggest help to me was school made a social story for my son, it was all about moving and the new house. we talked about it everyday how the house would be different but everything else the same. when you pack, let her pack her things. keep them all together and if you can put them in the car with her, seeing her things in moving van may cause stress. make her room as much as possible the same as her old room. take pictures of her old room and house and put them in frames so she can see them. my son has a collage of all his favorite stuff rom old house. let her help set up her new room. when you get to new house show her how everything works. light switches, where they are etc. most important keep her routine the same if you can. tell her about moving van and what they will be doing seeing them take our stuff caused my son some stress.

Congratulations !

No advice to offer....but I had to say that I noticed the little monkey backpack/harness your girls have on in your pictures.....

Erin has the SAME ONE !!  I love it !!

Congrats !!!  I hope it all works out.

What if you stopped by the new house with her just for a few minutes and took some pictures of her in each room...then she can look at them over the next few weeks and remember that this is going to be her new bedroom, livingroom, bathroom, even backyard etc.

Might ease the transition.

Good luck and enjoy the new house!

Hey girl!  Congrats!

Listen, do you know how you will decorate her new room?  Like if it has yellow walls, do you plan to get her a green & yellow comforter & throw pillows?

Here's where I'm going - figure out how you want her new room to look.  Go buy the new comforter set TOMORROW and put it in your current house and on her bed.  Are you going to put a new lamp or print in the new room?  Buy it now, and stick it in her current room - even if it looks awful.

When she goes to move, she's already experienced 1) the fun of new things and 2) she's taking her cool green polka dot comforter & lamp with her and WOW, what a coincidence!  They match her new room just perfectly!  Man, it must've been meant to happen - its going to be a great thing!

We moved when Cole was not quite 2 and we were also on the verge of dumping the crib & white furniture (for the new baby) and getting him darker stuff & a real  bed.  I did cheap psychological tricks on him for about 4 months and he did terrific.

You do need to bring along some older things as reassurance, then swap out after the new year with newer stuff.

Don't forget trick or treat candy!  Congrats again.

Thanks for all the advice.

I am so excited we are moving! This is our house!! This is the nicest house I have ever lived in too...I hate moving with a passion, we moved so much when I was little, I was a place my kids can call home, that they can grow up in. A place where my kids, my husband and I are all happy to come home to and are proud of. Its not super fancy or anything but it has 3 bedrooms and a basement with an attic/loft and a decent size yard, its an older home but was bought, gutted and completly remodeled, everything in it is new. weeee...can you tell im ready??

heres a few pics, they do it NO justice!(you cant really tell but the house is really a light peach color with maroon shutters)

It's GREAT! I bet you can't wait! Good luck to you - and I hope the suggestions have helped!
