Well shes now lacking a front tooth :( The dentist said she had Internal Resorption... Aparently its rare but serious all the same. If youre curious what it is heres the Definition...

Internal resorption is an unusual condition of a tooth when the dentin and pulpal walls begin to resorb centrally within the root canal. The first evidence of the lesion may be the appearance of a pink-hued area on the crown of the tooth; this condition is referred to pink tooth of Mummery, after the 19th century anatomist James Howard Mummery, and represents the hyperplastic, vascular pulp tissue filling-in the resorbed areas.

The cause can sometimes be attributed to trauma to the tooth, but other times there is no known etiology. If the condition is discovered prior to perforation of the crown or root has occurred, endodontic therapy, known as root canal thepary in lay terms, may be carried out with the expectation of a pretty high success rate.

Her tooth had a Hole in Both sides where the inside was exsposed...eeeek! The way the dentist put it was that she had injured the tooth, Her body rejected instead of healing it and was basically eating it from the inside out. How scary is that!? Anyway I hope shes going to be feeling better now. i'm sure it didnt feel Good...

they had to sedate her to do her extraction... i cried when her sedatives started kicking in... i didnt like it At all!!!

heres her new toothless grin... ignore the dirty look...she was eating dinner.

here you can see what her tooth was like... you cant see the back but the back of her tooth was totally eaten away with the insides visible :puke

aw

She sure is a cutie with her toothless grin!

Awww poor girl. Glad it's over now and she looks so adorable! Seems to have bounced back well! Love those toothless grins (I sported one for quite a while when I was little)

Wow, sorry to hear that...but even with that she still has that same big beautiful smile on her face!!

I hope she is feeling better now!
