Can We Get Rid Of Pictures? | Autism PDD

Most message boards have a way to turn signitures off... can't you just do that here if you don't want to see them?? That way the people who do (I love seeing other peoples cuties) still can.

I like seeing the kids - even though I don't put pics of mine up for security purposes. It would be nice if we kept to the guidelines and made sure they weren't HUGE (Rhosyn - yours are fine, I just ran into one new person's today that was really, really big).

I'm sorry if it bothers you Twins PB - it kind of did for me at first, but I got used to it. There's so much info here that I chose to ignore all the "stuff" in between if I didn't want to look! But now that I feel like I "know" so many people on here - it's nice to get updated pics!

I guess I'm not sure how the pics and poetry can get you into trouble at work? Is it if someone comes up and sees them and clues in that you're not doing work? I'm a little confused...

No offense but a lot of us try to scroll through at work and the pictures and poetry which pop up can get us into trouble!! It's like making someone watch their family vacation videos when you don't know them. I mean we all have cute kids!

The written word is pretty powerful in almost every instance.

Unless they are expressly forbidden by the higher ups...mine will stay where they are. Sorry.I vote for them to stay ditto - I love seeing people's kiddos in their sigs

Sorry, I love that I can share my photos ,and its nice to see the Kids of others as well, sometimes our kids are not painted in such a great light here ,know what I mean, from hitting, spitting, screaming etc ..some of the posts make our kids sound awful, But there all so Beautiful!! It is nice to see the pictures and remember that they are just precious little children.

I have to also agree that the pics should stay! I love seeing them and it makes it feel like you somewhat "know" who you're talking to. I wish I could put pics on, but, J's mom doesn't know about me being on here about her child. So, if by chance she ever visited the board, that wouldn't be good!!!

I think that if someone at work sees you logged onto the forum, they're probably going to know that it's not work related even without the pictures showing up. Sorry!!!!!

We will be keeping the pictures as far as I am concerned. Photo uploading has, in fact, been disabled on this board and that is why everybody has to hotlink their images (which is what you are doing when you use photobucket and like services).

If you would though, please keep the sizes reasonable. Check my sticky post on photo resizing from over a week ago at the top of each forum. That should help.

For those of you with pictures in your sigs...please make them small enough to be seen without having to scroll on a 1024 x 768 sized screen.

In addition, we cannot alter the board specifically to accommodate one person's work situation. As others have noted here your presence on the board may be noticed with or without pictures.

I hope that you can stay regardless of this inconvenience, but it is a way for us to share ourselves and our families that most of us quite enjoy. I don't think it is like seeing the family videos of a person you do not know, but seeing a representation of the person who is posting as they would have you see them-in this case...through our kids.

I do agree with maybe having the pics smaller though. Some are huge and you have to scroll side to side to read a forum. But I can live with it so we can see the pics :)

I do like the size that Kristys has, its small and you are still able to see her cute kids faces.

mishy39364.3856481481Mishy, you need to use a site that allows hotlinking. I don't think sites like Shutterfly, Kodakgallery, Snapfish, etc... do this.

I use shutterfly all the time on another site I belong to, so I dont understand why it dosnt on here

I liked how beccaposie gave me a new perspective though. It's hard working all day and then kids have computer when I get home so I try to sneak a peak when I can at work. Mea Culpa!
