Taht is wonderful! Keep up the good work Ethan! That is such great news!!  You are both working so hard, enjoy the progress!!!

Haven't posted much about Ethan lately.  He received 3 hrs a week of private therapy this summer and grew in leaps and bounds. Because of the therapy? Who knows. Anyway, He now says hi and bye appropriatly. In fact he says hi to everyone he runs across and gets angry if they don't say hi back. He says thank you much of the time. He says go away and all done, when he's had enough of something or someone. He calls me mom now. And has discovered that I will look at him and say "what Ethan" everytime. Hence mom, mom, mom, many many times. He never answers back but I love it. He can label at least a few dozen things now. Starting this week he is getting play group at  school 1 hr twice a week. 1 hr each st and ot from school. 1 hr each ot and pt privately.  It has been a long week for him.

I'm hoping that soon he will be able to ask for something by pointing or speaking or pecs, follow a one step instruction, and choose between 2 items. Hopefully that will help his frustration level. Low muscle tone and endurance, sensory seeking behavior and anxiety seem to have gone up equally with the progress with his language. He has some good therapists now, so I am hoping these issues will lessen for him soon.  He is 3.8 now. Such a sweetie.  I remember getting the call from the social worker to pick him up from the hospital and thinking how can I take care of another baby?  Can't imagine life without him.  Thanks for listening.

WHOO-HOOO!! Enjoy what he is doing NOW...later will come all too soon. Wonderful News!  Way to go Ethan!Wonderful news.  Glad you are seeing progress.  I definitely saw a decrease in frustration (and the lovely behaviors that go along with that LOL) as language increased.  Sees like he's well on his way.  The fact that he has some words and uses them in the appropriate context is huge!  Way to go Ethan!

Yeah Ethan!!  Very happy for you guys!
