I got a permission slip for a field trip today--- I know it will be a packed place went there with preschool last year --- they can't handle him in class I'm not sure they can handle him on a fieldtrip --
sometimes he gets rather upset if his routine his broken.
I can not attend with him since I have my last class -----
any ideas should I keep him out --- its not that I do not trust the school but if they are having a hard time in the class at a busy pumpkin patch will they lose him--
he is just getting to know his aide -- I wrote a note asking the teacher

Talk to the teacher and para and share your concerns, give them a chance to put your fears to rest. Fieldtrips are an important part of school - especially yearly ones. You will see your child's progress from year to year. The other children will get a chance to see your child in a new setting - hopefully positive, and the para will get to bond even more with your babe.
Maybe a social story or some visuals to let you child know what to expect ie first we get on the bus, then we go to the pumpkin patch, then we pick a pumpkin, then we have a snack then we get on the bus , then we go home.....
Hope this helps

Last year I went to the pumpkin farm with my sons class. I'm sure your kid will be fine :) If your sons class is like mine they'll probably only assign him to one chaperone.
For example my son is a darter, so they only assigned me him and not another child to watch over.
I know theres one field trip I'll probably take him out of and that's another play that is held at our local shopping mall. . They took the kids to a play and I wasnt able to make it. I guess he just couldnt sit down for it at all. The teacher actually took him out of the room and walked him up and down the hall of the shopping mall. I had a feeling of this but all my friends said that teachers are trained for this type of thing and they are used to SN kids so I decided to let him go. UM not this year if they do it again
