Yes there is usally a state mandated mileage rate....that is what also applies in these cases....see below.....googel mileage reimbursement rate and your state and it'll probably pop up !

In my town we are allowed to choose the elementry(sp) school of our choice, so no home schools here either. Quinn used to get transportation( a school dept. van that came to my house) now I prefer drive Quinn to school in a different part of my town. I don't get compensated.

We are currently looking at out of ditrict placements. I am not sold on it, and feel pushed by the school. Some of the schools are half hour to 45 minutes away ( depending on traffic)
I was told she would probably be in a private car being driven by someone the town hires. I'm not sure I am comfortable with that and may prefer to drive her myself.
Do any of you drive to out of district ? Does your town give you an allowance to compensate for the gas and your time ? I'm sure it varies from region to region...but can anyone tell me about compensation your recieve ? How much is reasonable ? Thanks !
When I was driving Payne to school...it was the same school system, but a different zone...we don't have "home schools" in our county. I did not receive compensation for it.
