Thank you all for replies regarding my "Fair hearing" for services for my son.
We had our "Informal meeting" today to discuss why the Regional Center rejected our request for services under the Lanterman Act. It was a bit intimidating. The director of the center was there, our case worker, a neurologist, a pediatrition and 2 child psycologists.
I spent quite a bit of time gathering my thoughts and getting it all down on paper for them, and so I could think clearly. They let me say my piece about our son.
In the end, the neurologist told me that, "I didn't have to spend any more time convincing him we had severe issues" and recommended further evaluation be done, on their dime, with a very good child psyciatrist that I've been trying to get an apt. with forever.
I feel so relieved that while they didn't sign him up for ABA today at least they want to investigate further.
Now there will be a little time to consult with professionals before the next series of meetings.
Thanks again
