GREAT JOB CARLO!!

i have a little while longer then my son will be getting on the bus and i will be a nervous reck. i wonder if he will cry? i dont know what i am going to do.

I am so happy and releived for you both! Great start!

(((Carlo)))) he did great!

Let us know how his first day went!

My sons love to ride their school buses.  My youngest even runs to his bus.
The bus driver and aide on my oldest son's bus while picking up other kids in the neighborhood take their time driving by all the horses in the neighborhood just so my son can see them each day (he LOVES Horses).

Hope you did something for yourself during those 4 hours--you deserve it MOM to Carlo.

That's Great...Good Job Carlo

Quinn will be starting 2nd grade in 2 weeks and loves his bus ride. It was tough at first but I made him a social story about riding  the school bus, his is a small and comfortable van, and that seemed to help him.

WTG CARLO!

My son also has a van and a bus aide and seems very comfortable with the setup. I just had his HS home visit yesterday and they weigh the children to see if they still require a carseat. First they told me Takoda was 40 lbs. and wouldn't need one.

I found out the new classroom assistant had weighed him in her arms because he wouldn't stand on it by himself. I didn't agree with that because Takoda hasn't hit 40 yet according to his Dr. and WIC he weighs 37 lbs. and I'm still required to keep him in a carseat.

Fortinately she reweighed him and came up with 38 lbs. I just wonder if you dispute their weight findings can you demand they stay in a carseat?

My son Jared was in a bus accident in preschool. The bus was a standard yellow bus and it was struck so hard that the chasiy seperated from the frame. Jared only injured his finger because he was safely buckled in a carseat. Some of the adult students and a bus aide were badly injured.

This experence has made me wonder if we can demand they keep our preschoolers in carseats even after they meets the laws size requirements? Does anybody know?

Nelle

PS. In Ohio it's 40 lbs. and 4 yrs.

Here it is up to the age of seven.  It really varies from state to state.  Now I think if the child had major safety issues, you could insist on the booster seat.
