they didn't work for me but i agree, he's gorgeous.

eta - i mean didn,t work as in  they played for 2 secs and that's it... just in case you understood that the wrong way...

horizon39357.5390740741well, I think he's pretty cute, but I am admittedly biased

horizon - not sure why they're not playing for you? but thanks for saying
he's gorgeous!

wanted to add - please ignore the mess. We're renovating our Den and
Don's room, and I've gotten a bit behind on housework Hi,

I would love to watch your video, but when I click on the link, photobucket asks for a password to view your album. Am I doing something wrong?

I took some video of Don today, that shows him acting like his natural,
typical self. I thought I'd share it, as it shows that language isn't
everything, and certainly doesn't mean higher or lower functioning. What
matters is how functional the language is, how good the child's social
skills are, and how much maladaptive behaviour there is.

Donny CAN talk, as you'll hear. He actually talks non-stop. But he has
almost no functional language. His conversational skills are almost non-
existant, although he does alright in a very structured, question-and-
answer format.

And while Don's got a lot of strengths, such as being very engaging with
family, some verbal skills, aware of the environment (not withdrawn), and
not too much stimming, he also has other behaviours (hyper, restless,
short attention span, very sensory seeking) which you'll see in the video
which make functioning in environments such as school very difficult.

Anyway, my point is just that I think these videos really point out that
autism is truly a spectrum. I've never met another kiddo who presents
like Donny. And all the other ASD kiddos I've met, while they have things
in common, have more that seperates them. And that, while many of us
have kids who might seem high or low functioning, I can guarantee that
all of our kiddos have strengths as well as challenges. Plus, it's an
opportunity for me to show off my cutie

The clips are all short (under 2 minutes).

FYI, I always have problems posting links etc. on this site for some
reason. I can't seem to get it to not ask for a password, or link straight to
the vid. The password is "autism". The videos are the first three items,
titled "Donny pacing", "Donny stim", and "Donny couch".

That was nice to see your son in those videos. He is a doll! Thank you so much for posting that. I enjoy seeing these kiddos cause it does remind me how very different they all are. Until Nikolas started school this year we didn't know any other ASD kids, and although I know you aren't suppose to compare its kind of nice to cause you realize how different they all are even though they may share some characteristics and how they have different strengths and weaknesses, gets you away from the label and widens your perspective. Hope that made sense. He's a very handsome little man!

He seemed a bit like Tom in some ways, maybe a little more verbal and Tom has more difficulties with questions.  I'll try and get a short video up of Tom soon so you can see if you agree.

He is  a cutie.. This is at first for me to see different children in the specttrum. thanks for sharing.

I love the giggle when he was answering questions for you...when we can get Mason interested, he adds that little giggle too!

He is definitely adorable!  And a great speller!!  Thanks for sharing.

Donny is such a cute kid.  Nice sense of humor too! WIMomOf239357.6300347222Now that is one handsome little guy!!!!!

AWWWW he reminds me a lot of my son ESPECIALLY with the sort of picking at the eyebrow, my guy does that all the time, and the pacing. Gosh he sure seems like a sweetheart!Thank you for sharing the videos.  My son said, "hey! that looks like me!"  My kids like transformers, too.  Great spelling, Donny!
