Thank you for all the respones!
We started going to my family's camper with mmy aunt and chi-chi, this past June. They came with us 4 weekends over the course of the past 3 months. The 1st 2 times, Quinn pretty much tolerated chi-chi being with us but did not want the dog near him. Then on the 3 trip he didn't mind chi-chi being with us et him or play with him. Then this last trip, last weekend, Quinn petted him and played with him as if being a dog never bothered him.
We HAVE a dog, who was completely avoided and ignored by J until about 6
months ago. He is still afraid she's going to try and lick him. It's really quite
sad for the pup. (She was here first.....)
I really know what a big deal this is. Your son seems to have overcome
some serious anxieties. AWESOME.Excellent news!
same situation with my DS, I am looking for a therapy dog for him currently.Way to Go QUINN Quinn used to not want dogs near him at all. He used to get nervous if he saw one and say "I don't want the dog to sniff me or lick me".
We have been going camping about every 3rd weekend with my family. This past weekend we went with with my aunt, her chuala(sp) and my parents. The first few times Quinn just tolerated the dog being with us. Then slowly he started to get used to him. This past weekend, to my surprise Quinn was patting chi-chi and asking if chi-chi could ride in the the backseat with him.
I am soo proud of him.
Edited to say that I meant to post this in Successes and Updates.
