Underwear | Autism PDD

Brendon ran out of pull ups yesterday, and he had a choice between a regular diaper and boxer briefs.  I let him choose and he chose the boxer briefs.  He went to the bathroom all day yesterday and was still wearing the same pair of underwear at bedtime.  He fell asleep in them and I wasn't waking him up just to put a diaper on him, so I decided to take my chances.  He was dry this morning and went to the bathroom first thing.  I'm so proud of how he's doing with the pottying.

That is Great! I tried to put panties on Abby to see if the wetness would bother her and it did not. Three times she walked around in wet panties , the last time I kept them on her for about an hour (mean mommy) to see if it would eventually bother her , it did not. I guess she is not ready.

That's wonderful!  Did he ever go to the bathroom on his own before this or was it just that he had the briefs on.

pull-ups. Your little guy is doing great.He's been going in the potty for about a week now...almost every time.  My problem was that he's gotten so used to the pull ups that he wouldn't keep regular underwear on.  He knew it was either that or the diaper and he made a choice.  Then he kept them on and didn't wet them at all.  This was really huge.  I was almost to the point of making him some silk boxers and trying those.  I've tried all kinds of underwear I come across thinking these may be the magic material that he will be able to handle wearing.

Mary, it will be a big day in our house when all of the men are wearing underwear!!!  LOL.

Another great story.  They are all over tonight.  I have to ask...did you think at all that he was ready?  I am always amazed at how much more is going on inside than we sometimes know.

I have tried it too, they don't seem to care that they are wet. Although last time Andrew looked down on himself with a strange look on his face, like how did that happen. THey will eventually take them off, but they use them as diapers. I plan on getting those PODS. Congrats on how well he is doing. That's great.
