Question about gluten free | Autism PDD

If is says Gluten-free, it's ok.

If it says wheat-free, you might not be. Just because something has no wheat doesn't mean there is no gluten.

Gluten is in wheat, oats, barley and rye. Spelt, too.

here are sites that contain the info about what is classified as gluten-free.

Hi everyone, I'm gettting started with this GFCF diet for my three year old twins, my son is Autistic. I have been trying to figure something out. I've read that gluten free means eliminating all wheat and oats. I've also read that some things have wheat in them but have had the gluten taken out of them. Which is right? If it says gluten free am I good to go? Or do I need to eliminate the wheat and oat? Hopefully this isn't a redundant question. Any info would be greatly appreciated. thanks. If you go to Talkaboutautism.org, there is a list you can print out of all unacceptable ingredients.  I'm pretty sure that wheat and oats are unacceptable.  I use this list when I'm trying to figure out labels.  Also, there are other links to ideas, recipes, what to order when you're out, etc.  It has been most helpful to me!!  Hope that helps!
