Welcome to the forum. A pediatric developmental specialist sounds like the right person to go to, and it sounds like you're having him tested by the school district, too, which is important (they provide the services, after all).
The throwing can be sensory seeking behavior. Here's a checklist which should help you identify any sensory issues your son has:

we have connors (aka sugar bear) eval in one week, in looking up info on these doctors who areout of dartmouth in lebbanon nh they re credentials read pediatric develpmental just want to make sure this is where we wshould be for eval. and if you have any advice on what we should look for information wise from them connor is in spec ed three days a week and waiting eval to build iep. also has any one heard of any association with a parent being hlab 27 positive and autism or concerns as it is a genetic issue that can cause immune problems?
connor has started throwing when angry!!! sometimes even when not just to get a reaction he will throw a match box at me and look for response??? with no concern for hurting me at all but almost a smile
