Fantastic News.  Congradulations!

So happy for you.

I was so excited when he said his first word 'asparagus'  (or did he say Asperger

Mary,

Sounds like the boy's ABA therapist really knows what she is doing.  You should be very proud of your boys, but most of all, yourself.

Another hero to add to my list from these boards.  (It is growing quite large).

Congratulations.

Erin

Mary - so great to hear that you are seeing some progress!  It seemed, at least in our case, that it took FOREVER for the words to start coming, but once they started it was like the faucet being turned on!  I think this is a sign of more great things to come.

My boys have both started a forward march with words.  Jacob can label many more things and his receptive language is very very good.  He can understand me when I give a 4-5 word command now.

Brendon has started saying words....daily....that in itself is a miracle to me.  He's also been doing some tactile stimulation exercises in school so that he can handle interaction with the teachers better.  My baby is now giving me hugs....on a DAILY basis.  I'm hearing the word Mama.  I'm hearing Pepperoni, pronounced correctly.  I'm hearing Jacob, stop.  I'm hearing Chocolate, but I've been hearing that one for a while now.  My boys are making some great progress verbally.  I'm getting more "knee sugars" than I ever have.  He's initiating so much more contact now.  He can even handle it when Jacob does his flip turning exercises on top of people who are sitting on the couch.  Jacob made him mad the other day and he expressed his anger at Jacob instead of hiding or melting down.  He kicked at, bit at, and just did everything he could think of to show Jacob to back off.  That's when he started saying, "Jacob, stop."  Music to my ears.

And one more thing that deserved its own post here instead of going with all of the other accomplishments lately.  Brendon pointed at a pretzel and nodded his head when I asked him if he wanted one.

That is so cool Mary.

I have not heard a really happy post from you in a while.

You deserve some happiness.

Really nice to see

Concernedpa.

Here's to  many more words to come!
