the blood may come from a local infection (like the mouth or site of a
catheter) as well as from infection of internal organs. Candida
may only briefly be present in the blood when an internal organ is
infected, therefore a blood test result is not always reliable.[/quote]
have any of you heard of this??? do any of you have concerns about yeast in your child?
Here is a home Candida yeast test, one you can do in the morning. We do not know the source of this home Candida test but it's been around a long time and is thought to be quite reliable in the evaluation of Candida symptoms:
Up to 85% of Americans May Have Candida - DO YOU?
Try this Fast and FREE Candida Saliva Test!
When you awake in the morning, before you put anything into your mouth, work up some saliva and spit it into a clear glass of water. Within 1-30 minutes, look in the glass. If there are strings coming down from your saliva, or if the water turned cloudy, or if your saliva sank to the bottom, YOU MAY HAVE A CANDIDA CONCERN! Healthy saliva will simply float on the top!
(You may want to put out a glass of water in the bathroom or on the nightstand the night before you wish to do the home Candida Saliva test, just to remind yourself not to brush your teeth prior to spitting into the glass.)
Hi Melanie,
First of all, every person alive has candida, so what's the point of testing for it?
If you beleive that your child has a yeast infection, I would recommend taking him/her to a pediatrician. If you want to treat a systemic yeast infection (which is apparently something that is commonly diagnosed by non-mainstream practitioners), then you might just bypass the test and treat it.
According to my developmental pediatrician, the yeast tests offered by the various labs always come out 'positive'. She said that she's never seen one that hasn't. She doesn't run the tests anymore because they always show positive and "she doesn't know what to do with that".
This is just my opinion and not intended to offend. Here's a link that is critical of treating candida:

Here's one that's pro candida/autism:

Ok this is too funny! My hubby and I ran across this the other night and as I was reading some of the symptoms of Candida a few maybe 2 described my daughter but more described my hubby so we both did the test the next morning. According to the test hubby has it! So he's not one to rush to the doctor or really try much homeopathic remades but I did buy cinnamon oil and he has been taking it. Before he left for work this morning I asked if he could tell a difference and he said that he felt less gassy so... Maybe there is something to be said for the test
