diagnosis | Autism PDD

our family just found out that my grandson may have autism asperberger, and we are finding that just to get him diagnosised is very expensive and the insurance doesn't cover it.  Does anyone have any ideas or referrals where to get a professional diagnosis for that isn't so costly?  We live in No. Cal, Mtn View, to be specific.  He is almost 3 yrs, will be in Jan 08.
I saw some places called Pacific Autism Center and am going to call them to check them out.  Anyone have any ideas?
thanks so much!

Welcome to the forum!  Has your grandson been evaluated by the state's Early Childhood program or the local school district yet?  If not, that's free.

Here's the topic where free search services are linked.  You can private doctors and therapists through the search services or find a local support group or autism chapter through the search service, and then get the advice of locals.

Hopefully other Northern California members will see your question, too.  Good luck with everything.
