Short answer: yes, a person on the spectrum can be diagnosed with one diagnosis and then as they progress in years, move to another diagnosis (such as moving from PDD-NOS to Aspergers) particularly if they are very young and still developing. They are still on the spectrum, however. My son was diagnosed with PDD-NOS at age 5 now he is 6 and I took that
chidbrain.com test yesterday and it said he has mild PDD I took the test
becuse I have been reading alot about PDD and I go OOH he does that, I
thought he was just being "corky" I think when I brought him to the doctors
when he was 5 I didn't understand all his issues We as parents have a thing
about looking past certain issues also he has been doing more things that
he didn't do when he was diagnosed or maybe I have relized that some of
the things he does are not just "corky"but autistic. Can you have one
diagnosis and it change as they get older? Has this happened to anyone
else?? He does go back to the doctor in November that diagnosed him so I
also will see what she says but I was just curious if anyone else has gone
through this.
