Foxl,
Do you have a private speech eval for yr child? For me that came in handy
as it really put on paper how far behind his peers he was with speech issues.
A delay is a delay if it is a concern, I would see what a private SP would
reccomend and go from there.Linda - I was asking my therapist abt speech eval (for next yr!)... She said that pvt speech assessments in addition to EI assessments are always welcome. Any hearing test results, ABR results, ENT reports - anything in support to making a case.
We are having a meeting in a couple weeks to "discuss the assessment" for my DS, who is 4.5.
I have been pushing for speech therapy for him since JANUARY but he was put off as the SLP "would not be able to rule out" that his two years of hearing only Spanish was not the cause of his delay. Despite his speaking English for 2.5 yrs ... Uh huh.
SO ... they say that "IF it is determined he qualifies, we will then develop his IEP ... at the meeting."
So ... if I come armed with some goals, already, it can only help. Even IF we decide to schedule the IEP for a different day ... or just to continue the meeting another day.
Anyone know of a good website for Speech and Artic goals?
Here is a speech and language goal bank that I had saved in my favorites:

Good Luck!
ETA - Here's another goal bank:

We have hearing, etc. on him ... we did not get a prviate assessment, yet. YET ... the district may be paying for that
To clarify, this is for my (I THINK!) NT son. I THINK he only needs articulation therapy.
Tuhina is already in speech, for TWO HOURS per week!
WImom, thanks for the urls! I think that is what I need ...
