4 year old shots | Autism PDD

Cooper just went for his 4 yr check up and we did not do the shots either.  His ped said it could wait til he's 6.  He wrote a letter our daughter could give to his Day Care, so he didn't get kicked out!

This topic has recently been discussed on the above link.  It should answer some of your questions.

my son's ped. said it was ok to give him the 4 yr old shots.he had them and had no reactions towards it!

I put it off until 6 trying to get someone to order/ space it out and order seperate mmr shots. NO go.  In the end I signed a waiver for no more shots.  He's had a ton already.

My daughters who are NT had all their shots but none at 4.  They waited until right before kindergarten started.  If you do decide to give the shots you have plenty of time to space them before entering Kindergarten.

Ben will be going in for his 4 yr well check in December and I'm trying to decide what to do about his shots.  I feel like everything was so normal in his development until he got his shots at two.  Then shortly after he got rotavirus, then numerous ear infections etc.  It was like his immune system went on strike or something.  Anyway, he's supposed to get 4 shots and I'm just wondering what others here did when their kids turned 4 or any recommendations.  Thanks! I haven't given my daughter her 4 year old vaccinations and she is 6. We are off to the childrens hospital here in Melbourne to discuss what can be done about spacing them out and if she needs them all- I am going to have her antibody levels tested. I saw a dramatic regression just before 3 years old when she had a flu vaccine so am scared too. LizMy son just turned 3, but I don't plan to get a well check at age 4.  I believe the main purpose for well checks is vaccines and since I don't plan on getting anymore, why do well checks?  Now, I'm sure we'll see the doctor several times anyway for sickness, so don't see a need for well checks.Well check ups are very important as they screen for developmental stuff and other potential problems that can be made less sevear if caught early.  They moniter height and  weight check up on sleep issues blood and urine tests. Hearing and eyes.  Blood pressure.  Check ups are so very important for everyone. My son is doing so well at 4yrs old that my opinion is no more shots EVER. We stopped when he was diagnosed and his ped agreed. IMO I feel that if I did get him his 4year shots and something happened to all of his progress I would feel horrible. I can't speak for everyone but for my son he has had enough.
